TV20 - This Green Life

Lesley Nagy - Hi. I'm Leslie Nagy
Vincent Moran -  I'm Vincent Moran.  Coming up on Your Green Life.

Lesley Nagy - Calling all shopoholics. It's a green event made just for you.

Suzanne Agasi, Founder and Director of ClothingSwaps.com - "I got my watch at the clothing swap... this top, my skirt. It's all icing on the cake. And you're reusing. And you're recycling. And you're helping a local shelter."

It's all next on Your Green Life.  Welcome back to Your Green Life. Are you sick and tired of everything in your closet? Well there's no need to go out and buy a whole new wardrobe. There's a much better idea and it'll save you some big bucks too.

Well, I'm at my first ever official Clothing Swap. As you can see I've brought a bag's worth of giveaways.  Let's see how this all works. (Leslie Nagy enters with a large bag of clothing to donate and is greeted at the entrance.)  Hi Suzanne. How are you? I brought my bag of giveaways.

Suzanne Agasi - "Good. Thanks for coming." Great. We'll take it in the back for you. Ok. And in the meantime, you can have your hair styled, enjoy spa treatments, and have a cocktail..."

Yup. Time to get pampered.

Suzanne tosses a raffle prize to the lucky winner in the audience.

Founder of Clothing Swap Inc., Suzanne Agasi is on a mission to make it fun to give away your clothes. "With Clothing Swaps it's very simple. Just bring what you have that you are ready to let go of, and take what you love.

A $20 cover charge pays for the venue, where women can socialize and relax.

Lesley receives a chair massage from Zubio massage therapist. "I really like this kind of shopping.  It's so much less stress."

And while we hang out, volunteers are busy getting donated clothes ready to go home with their new owners.
"My events are not a one-for-one swap. There's no money exchanged per item. You can bring a little. You can bring a lot. You can take what you love."

Curtains open and women yell happily as they begin to look for new treasures.

Ready, Set, Go! And it's a big free for all.

Suzane Agasi - "Almost every woman has items in her closet where she says What was I thinking? Why did I buy that? or
This is two sizes too small for me. I wish I fit into it. You know, let it go."

After all, here you could find something that fits just right.
Suzanne Agasi -  "I got my watch at the clothing swap... this top, my skirt. It's all icing on the cake. And you're reusing. And you're recycling. And you're helping a local shelter.
That's right anything not taken in the Clothing Swap is donated.

"Everyone loves to shop. Women love to shop. But you get that 'shopping high' without breaking the bank. And chances are they still will swap. But why not swap first?"

Talk about guilt free shopping.

Suzanne Agasi - "It's good for the earth. It's a good habit to get into. Just like recycling. We all had to get into that habit. Same thing with clothing."

What a great green idea! I found a couple new tops and saved some green too.
